Our celebration will take place in three parts:

Vow Exchange

We’ll begin the day with a Ceremony of Commitment at the same location where many of my mom and aunties were married. It will be a formal dress code, and we’ll exchange vows surrounded by our families and loved ones.
📍 Rydell Redshirt-Nez’s Residence
🕒 Time: 10:00 A.M.

Navajo Ceremony

Later that day, our families will join for a Traditional Navajo wedding ceremony inside the hogan.
📍 LeChee, AZ
🕒 Time: 5:00 P.M.

Reception

After the ceremony, we’ll celebrate with a reception full of food, laughter, and dancing. A time for everyone to come together and enjoy the evening.
📍 Same location as Navajo Ceremony
🕒 Time: 6:30 P.M.

Exchange Vows at Redshirt-Nez’s Residence

The home continues to stay within the family, passed down to her older brother, Rydell Redshirt-Nez. This land holds generations of memories, from the days when her mother, Martanya Slim, and her sisters played there, to the sacred moment when they celebrated their Navajo traditional wedding on the same blessed land.

Page, AZ is less than a five-minute drive from LeChee, AZ, where Marisa’s maternal grandparents live. The place she’ll share her vows is where her great-grandmother, Katherine Redshirt, raised her six children, including Marisa’s late grandmother, Viola Redshirt.
